Admission Information

The admissions process for the 2027/2028 academic year will begin on November 1st, 2026.
Admission requirements are yet to be finalized.

Study programme: Mechatronics

Mechatronics is a full-time study programme. It is offered in two versions with partly different curricula. One version is taught in Czech. Another version is taught in English. More detailed information about the Czech version and the courses taught can be found HERE.

The English version may optionally be taught in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, Germany and under certain conditions (more than the minimum number of students decides on this option), it is possible to achieve a dual degree. Eligibility:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. The most relevant fields are Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Robotics, Technical Physics, and Mechanical Engineering. Other similar fields of bachelor's degree study may also be acceptable. In case of doubt, the study programme supervisor decides on the acceptability of a particular bachelor's degree study field.
• Fluent English skills level B2 (no official certificate required).
• On-line interview.
• Recognised tertiary education (a Bachelor degree).

Prospective students will be invited to interview even without presenting the certificate of formal recognition of their Bachelor degree in the Czech Republic. However this recognition (administrative procedure that takes about one month) must be completed before any official confirmation of acceptance for studies can be issued. Since this confirmation is necessary for visa application, all prospective students are strongly advised to apply for recognition as early as possible.
Formal recognition is not required for applicants from Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.

Evaluation of the admission procedure:

The applicants face an oral interview on professional knowledge related to the desired study program. Applicants will be accepted in order based on the number of points obtained. The maximum number of points from the oral interview is 30 points, while the minimum number of points for admission to the study is 16 points.

The 1st ROUND OF ADMISSIONS to the English version of the Mechatronics programme
The application deadline is on February 28th, 2027.
Online admission interviews will be held on an ongoing basis whenever there are at least five applicants who have submitted an application and paid the required fee.
However, even with fewer applicants, interviews will be conducted at least every two months during the period between the opening of applications and the final deadline of this round (November 2026 – March 2027).
Applicants will be notified of the interview date via email at least one week in advance.

*The 2nd ROUND OF ADMISSIONS to the English version of the Mechatronic programme
The application deadline is on June 18th, 2027.
Online interviews will take place during the week of June 21st – 25th, 2027, for all candidates, regardless of the application submission date.

*The second round of admissions is open only to students who either do not need visa (e.g., EU citizens) or already hold long-term study visa valid for the academic year 2025/26.
